at the end of installation of beta4 I get:

failed (modprobe vboxnetflt failed. Please use 'dmesg' to find out why)

FATAL: Error inserting vboxnetflt (/lib/modules/2.6.34.7-0.5-desktop/updates/vboxnetflt.ko): Invalid module format
but things things seem to be working fine

Bridged networking works? That's odd, that module is responsible for it. Have you tried to rebuild the modules with 'sudo /etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup', or with dkms? Do you even have DKMS installed?

sorry - don't use bridged I use NAT, what i use works fine, since I don't use bridged I didn't know it wasn't working
yes dkms is installed but is provided by a 3rd party (Packman, not openSuse)

These third-part DKMS packages don't really work for openSUSE.

posted to openSuse forum and got this reply:
"Since some time I've also tested the DKMS package from Pacman, I noticed some problems with it, I think it's loaded loaded too late in the boot process. I changed it to load at boot in the runtime level editor in yast>system, switch to expert view and toggle dkms_autoinstaller to be started at boot."
