VirtualBox 3.1.4 Beta 2 released

Postby Frank Mehnert » 4. Feb 2010, 19:53

Please do not use this VirtualBox Beta release on production machines. A VirtualBox Beta release should be considered a bleeding-edge release meant for early evaluation and testing purposes.

You can download the binaries here.

Please do NOT open bug reports at http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Bugtracker but use our VirtualBox Beta Feedback forum to report any problems with the Beta. Please concentrate on reporting regressions since VirtualBox 3.1.2.

Version 3.1.4 will be a maintenance release. The following items were fixed and/or added since VirtualBox 3.1.4 Beta 1:

  • VMM: fixed incompatibility with 2.6.32 Linux kernels (software virtualization only)
  • VMM: activate NXE for PAE enabled guests (VT-x and AMD-V on 32 bits hosts only; bug #3578) -- fixed 32 bits VT-x regression on hosts with EFER.NXE=0
  • VMM: fixed hang of SMP guests under certain circumstances
  • Snapshots: fix a 3.1 regression that broke deletion of snapshots when a machine had immutable or writethrough storage attached (bug #5727)
  • GUI: fixed guest fullscreen mode after reboot (bug #5372)
  • VRDP: fixed crash on Mac OS X when 3D is enabled (3.1 regression)
  • 3D support: fixed ubigraph_server crashes (bug #4674)
  • 3D support: fixes for 64-bit Solaris guests
  • Linux Additions: fixed shared folders for Linux 2.6.32 guests (bug #5891) -- fix improved.

Thanks for your help!
